The theme of the layout is the Southern Railway from the immediate post World War II through to the 1960s.
The name and location are totally fictitious, but are meant to represent a small country town on one of the main Kent Coast lines.
The majority of the locomotives and rolling stock are either Southern Railway or the Southern Region of British Railways. However, since the main purpose of the layout is for fun and enjoyment, many “visiting” locomotives and items of stock appear from other eras and regions.
The layout has existed in its basic form for over 10 years, but has been subject to constant modification and we hope improvement over the period.
We have displayed the layout at numerous model railway exhibitions; it has also been a regular and popular feature at many local school and church fetes and bazaars.
The owners of the layout are members of Erith Model Railway Society and should you require any details on the layout, please do not hesitate to ask.
